Chargers Injury Report: LA Could Benefit From An Ailing Dallas Team

Unfortunate situations may allow the Bolts to gain an edge against a tough opponent

Your Los Angeles Chargers are slated to face off against the tough Dallas Cowboys who looked like a top team heading into Week 5.

Coming out of it, however, the Cowboys may look to regain some of that respect lost after an embarrassing 42-10 loss against the San Francisco 49ers.

A defense that was said to be the top unit in all of football was embarrassed on national television, now, they will look to reclaim that spot, but now, with some missing faces.

"The Cowboys enter Week 6 with some health issues — Leighton Vander Esch (neck), KaVontae Turpin (ankle) and C.J. Goodwin (shoulder) — and are dealing with something else suffered from that 42-10 loss to the 49ers."

(Calvin Watkins, The Dallas Morning News)

Leighton Vander Esch was having an incredible start to the year and even racked up 10 tackles before exiting the Sunday night game early.

Now, Vander Esch may miss a decent chunk of the season possibly being placed on injured reserve.

Injuries are a part of the game and teams will adapt and adjust based on who is on the field.

The Chargers have already had to adjust with players like Austin Ekeler and Corey Linsley missing some time already and wider receiver Mike Williams going down for the year with his torn ACL.

The absence of Vander Esch and safety C.J. Goodwin may fall in favor of the Chargers who are looking to come out hot after their early Bye Week.

If Ekeler comes back for the Monday night game, expect to see him a lot with the star Cowboys linebacker not on the field being able to cover the dual-threat tailback.
