The anticipation for the upcoming football season is noticeable as the Los Angeles Chargers kick off their second week of OTAs (Organized Team Activities). The Chargers are gearing up for a deep run in 2023, and it all starts now. As the team takes the field for the second week of OTAs, some notable star players were absent from the practice sessions.

According to insider reports from Daniel Popper and Lindsey Thiry, Justin Herbert, Mike Williams, Corey Linsley, and Austin Ekeler were among those not in attendance.

While it may raise some concerns, there's no need to worry about that. Star running back Austin Ekeler, who was previously mentioned in trade talks, is no longer on the market but has yet to join the team. Fortunately, he is scheduled to appear with the Chargers sometime in June, which is a positive sign for the team as they prepare for this upcoming season.

Mike Williams, on the other hand, is currently recovering from a back contusion. The hope is that he will be ready to hit the ground running by the start of the season, as he is primed to show he can stay healthy. Meanwhile, Justin Herbert underwent off-season surgery to repair a torn labrum on his left shoulder. Although he missed Monday's OTA due to personal reasons, reports indicate that he is looking better and has started throwing the football again.

In the meantime, LA will work with what they got as their star players are inching closer to returning to OTA's and beyond. With the start of the season just around the corner, the Los Angeles Chargers are poised to chase their championship aspirations.
