Chargers News: Justin Herbert Still Haunted By Errant Throws Years Later

Failure is motivation for QB1.

After two tough losses against the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is in an introspective period where he looks to improve ahead of a tough, borderline must-win battle against the lowly Chicago Bears in Week 8.

Fortunately, it sounds like Herbert is doing all the right things mentally to improve on his outing and deliver, as usual, when the Chargers need him most. Prior to LA's eventual 34-17 loss to the Chiefs this past Sunday, Herbert showed off the obsessive internality that has made him such a beast at the NFL level, as Elliott Teaford of The Orange County Register details.

"I'm worried about (poor) throws from four or five years ago," Herbert acknowledges.

Herbert's comments definitely bring a sense of confidence to Bolts fans, if there was any lacking.

His performance against Dallas, which was highlighted by a game-losing interception to Stephon Gilmore, was marred by a number of missed throws and bad reads.

Herbert acknowledging his mistakes and mentioning how he continues to be hung up over plays from years ago indicates that missed throws in particular, are something that he thinks about to a large degree and looks to improve on.

With quite a few more difficult contests on the calendar, including games against Detroit, Baltimore, Buffalo, and KC again, the Chargers need to take everything they can get, and try to escape with a win at SoFi Stadium.

Luckily, Herbert seems to have the right attitude and approach going into the contest, and that should inspire as much confidence as possible in Chargers fans as he gets prepped to go head-to-head with (probably) the Bears' rookie backup quarterback Tyson Bagent.
