Christmas Fire? Commanders' Ron Rivera on Hot Seat After Struggling Start vs. Jets

Ron Rivera may no longer be the Washington Commanders coach after Christmas given the team's poor start against the New York Jets.

It's likely that this will be Ron Rivera's final season with the Washington Commanders with a 4-10 start to the season.

However, after trailing 17-0 to the New York Jets in the first quarter could result in Rivera being fired on Christmas.

The Commanders started the game off with an interception from Sam Howell, followed by a blocked punt from Tress Way and allowing a 36-yard touchdown run to Breece Hall.

It's an absolute avalanche for the Commanders, who are set to pick in the top five in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With new owner Josh Harris at the helm, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding whether he would go out and hire his own coach during his first full offseason as owner.

Today's game against the Jets is yet another example of why Harris could take on that liberty this offseason.

The Jets hold a 17-0 lead against the Commanders late in the first quarter.
