Washington Commanders vs. New York Jets Live Updates: Washington Comeback Bid Falls Short On Last-Second Field Goal
Can the Washington Commanders get back in the win column?
With games against the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys on the horizon, this game against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium at 1 p.m. seems like their best shot to snap a five-game losing streak.
Both teams have their fair share of questions at the quarterback position. Commanders quarterback Sam Howell has hit a wall in his first season as the starter, throwing five touchdowns and six interceptions in Washington’s last five games. He was benched in the 4th quarter of the Commanders’ 28-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 17.

With Jacoby Brissett throwing two touchdowns in his two drives against the Rams, it bears watching if head coach Ron Rivera will have a quick hook if Howell struggles against a stout Jets defense that’s seventh in yards allowed per game.
With the long-teased return of Aaron Rodgers not coming to fruition, the Jets quarterback carousel continues with Trevor Siemian making his first start of the season. Zach Wilson is out with a concussion.
Washington will be without two important pieces on offense with running back Brian Robinson Jr. missing his second-straight game with a hamstring injury, and left tackle Charles Leno dealing with a calf injury.
