Commanders 7-Round Mock Draft: Trade with NFC East Rival?

The Washington Commanders could trade back from the No. 2 pick to build on a big-time draft class for the team.

The Washington Commanders are slowly building their team and lining up their draft picks for what should be an important spring in the nation's capital.

There are plenty of positions for the Commanders to address including offensive line, defensive end, and especially in the linebacker and quarterback rooms.

Here's a look at how we could see Washington approaching the offseason on a special Mock Draft Monday.

LSU Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels (5) calls for the ball against Texas A&M Aggies defensive lineman Isaiah Raikes (34) during the second half at Tiger Stadium.

MOCK NFL DRAFT

No. 6 - QB Jayden Daniels, LSU

No. 23 - OT JC Latham, Alabama

No. 36 - CB T.J. Tampa, Iowa State

No. 40 - TE Ja’Tavion Sanders, Texas

No. 99 - RB Bucky Irving, Oregon

No. 101 - WR Jacob Cowing, Arizona

No. 138 - LB Cedric Gray, UNC

No. 178 - S James Williams, Miami (Fl.)

No. 222 - OT Trente Jones, Michigan

As you look at these picks you might have connected already there are a couple of trades.

First, and we know some are going to hate this, we have Washington trading back with the New York Giants who move up to get North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye. In exchange, the Commanders would get at least picks No. 6 and 39 this year and a first-round pick in 2024.

With the No. 6 pick, the Commanders land LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels and then trade back into the first round by packaging picks No. 39 (from NYG) and No. 67 to move up with the Houston Texans at No. 23 where they select Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham.
