Washington Commanders' Eric Bieniemy Reveals 'Losing Gets on My Nerves!' Amid Losing Streak

The Washington Commanders are currently on a three-game losing streak, and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy hates every minute of it.

No one likes losing, and Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy despises it. With his team currently on a three-game losing streak, the former Kansas City Chiefs wizard isn't happy.

After Washington started the season 2-0, the team has come back down to earth with a bone-rattling thud.

As for Bieniemy's thoughts as Washington gears up for its Week 6 clash against the Atlanta Falcons?

“Losing gets on my nerves," Bieniemy said. "I'm being serious. In order to appreciate winning, you have to despise losing. I despise it. It's my job to make sure that we don't have to go through these emotions. How do I conquer that? I got to make sure that I'm doing everything under the sun, making sure that we don't go through these experiences."

With the Commanders going through a transition period at quarterback, Sam Howell was entrusted with the starting role during the preseason. Before his Week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals, he had only made one regular-season start, so many knew his play would have ups and downs.

As the Commanders ride the waves of inconsistency, Howell has, at times, been a lamb to the slaughter. Howell has been sacked 29 times through five games (second in the NFL) and has been pressured 59 times.

During the 37-3 blowout against the Buffalo Bills and the 40- 20 win against the Chicago Bears, Howell stayed on the field and finished the games, which surprised some.
But Bieniemy has revealed the reason why.

"Well, when I was a young player, I wanted every opportunity to gain as much experience as possible," Bieniemy said. "So being a former player, I know how players think, and so players don't want to ever be pulled. So, the thing that I'm looking at is just giving Sam an opportunity to learn how to grow and play through the good as well as the bad. You can learn things from those experiences."

No doubt there will be plenty more ups and downs throughout the season for the Commanders, and as Bieniemy says, he despises losing. We imagine that every person involved with the organization feels the same way.

Against the Atlanta Falcons, the Commanders and Bieniemy can get the sour taste of a loss out of their mouth by snapping their three-game losing streak.
