If money talks, the Washington Commanders have the right to never shut up. A new Forbes ranking places the organization in elite company as one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world.

According to a new study done by Forbes, the Commanders franchise had a $290 million operating income between 2019 and 2021, making them the 13th-highest-earning franchise over that period:

The Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams make up the handful of NFL franchises that have raked in more than the Commanders in this three-year window.

Following the NFL's new TV deal, this list takes into account $198 million in television revenue in 2021 from Fox, ESPN, CBS and NBC for each NFL franchise.

This list follows a 2022 study from Forbes that labeled the Commanders as the sixth most valuable franchise in the league, estimated at $5.6 billion overall. This put Washington at nearly a billion dollars healthier than the league average valuation of $4.47 billion.

If the team pulls the trigger on a stadium revamp or a complete move from FedEx Field, the team's value and revenue could see a further jump in the coming years.

Maybe a profitable stadium is the crown piece needed to make Washington the richest team in the league. They only trail the Dallas Cowboys by a humble $2.4 billion.
