Latest Update on Anthony Richardson's Injury
The Indianapolis Colts saw plenty of positive moments from rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson in his regular-season NFL debut Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it ended with a concerning moment when he left the game with an injury in the final minutes.
It was later indicated that Richardson had suffered a knee injury, but postgame comments from both Richardson and Colts head coach Shane Steichen downplayed the severity of the situation.
“I’m all right. More so hurt that we lost than my knee, but other than that, I’m good. I’ve just got to get to the drawing board and focus on next week,” Richardson said after the game (via Colts Wire).
“Yeah, he should be all right," said Steichen (via Colts Wire). "Everything should be all right.”
That's good news for Colts fans, who got to see Richardson score through the air and on the ground in Sunday's 31-21 home loss to the division-rival Jags.
It might still be a long season for the rebuilding Colts, but the early returns suggest they might have a special player in their new franchise quarterback, and it looks like he dodged a bullet with Sunday's injury.
