Originally from Roanoke, Virginia. Attended North Mecklenburg High School. Began his college career at Johnson C. Smith University. As a redshirt freshman, he played in ten games, totaling 1040 rushing yards and thirteen rushing touchdowns. Named 2019 CIAA Offensive Rookie of the Year. Transferred to Fort Valley State University prior to the 2020 season. Did not play during the 2020 season. As a redshirt sophomore, he played in seven games, totaling 835 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He had an outstanding redshirt junior season, totaling 1371 rushing yards and seventeen touchdowns. Named to the 2022 All-SIAC First Team.
