The high school pedigree, size, length and experience in the SEC are all there with Ringo, he just doesn’t have the change of direction and feel for the game to be a top of the line cornerback prospect.
Evaluation:
On film, it looks like Ringo was built in a lab. He has a great frame, fantastic length and impressive speed. It didn’t matter the receiver’s speed he went up against in man coverage, Ringo was always in the wideouts hip pocket. With his length and speed, Ringo was never beaten on any vertical route. Ringo plays up to his strength, displaying physicality in coverage and with the ball in the air. Receivers weren’t able to win jump balls against him. Ringo has ball skills and consistently got his hands on the football. His makeup speed and length will allow him to have several pass deflections at the next level. In press man coverage, Ringo was elite against short routes where he could overwhelm wideouts. What Ringo struggles with the most on film is his change of direction. He is on the bigger side which contributes to it but Ringo has tight hips. Quicker receivers were able to lose him on out routes and digs, as Ringo wasn’t able to change direction quick enough to stay with them. In zone coverage, Ringo looks lost at times and doesn’t have a natural feel for where to be. This caused him to be a step late and forced him to rely on his natural tools to make up for his mistakes. Being that it was his first year starting in the SEC, Ringo could have been nervous and less confident but if his change of direction and ability in zone coverage don’t improve next season, it will hurt his draft stock. Ringo will check a lot of boxes and put together solid film last season, he just isn’t an elite prospect right now. With that being said, he has the pedigree and tools to be a starting cornerback in the NFL.

Kelee Ringo, a Freshman All SEC player, is ready to make an impact on the Bulldogs 2022 season. Ringo missed the 2020 season, but started in twelve of the Bulldogs fifteen games in 2021. At Saguaro High School in Arizona, he was the fourth ranked prospect nationally and the number one ranked cornerback. Not only is he a tremendous football player, but student as well where he earned the Touchdown Club of Athens Football Scholarship. A communication Studies Major, Ringo will certainly be a player to watch on the Bulldogs in 2022.
