Are There Any Justin Fields Trade Destinations Left?

If the Bears were hoping to get a premium draft pick for their current starting quarterback, it appears they were sorely mistaken.

It wasn't long ago that we were debating whether or not Justin Fields was good enough to prevent the Chicago Bears from spending the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on USC's Caleb Williams.

Now, it looks like the Bears might be lucky to get a Day 3 pick in return for Fields in a trade.

That's not to say that Fields isn't talented, or doesn't still have some promising upside at 24 years old. But after watching most of the quarterback-needy teams in the league add other veterans in free agency, it's left the Bears without many potential trade partners who would be willing to give them anything of real value in return for Fields.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Kirk Cousins. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Russell Wilson. The Las Vegas Raiders signed Gardner Minshew. The Minnesota Vikings signed Sam Darnold.

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields

The trade market for Fields appears to have dried up.

The Washington Commanders and New England Patriots are likely to take quarterbacks right after the Bears pick at No. 1 in this year's draft.

Who's left on the board, and with the rest of the potential competition drying up, why would that team feel compelled to offer a premium pick to Fields, when they know the Bears are drafting his replacement at No. 1?

The Denver Broncos are one of the few teams that still have a gaping hole at quarterback, and might be willing to swing a deal for Fields, considering they're not picking high enough in the first round to land one of this year's top prospects. But after trading away tons of premium picks for Russell Wilson and Sean Payton, they're not likely to offer much to Chicago for Fields.

Whatever the plan was for Fields this offseason, it looks like it's backfiring in a big way for Chicago.
