Eagles Mock Draft: Philly Caves to the Bijan Robinson Hype

The time is drawing near, and the speculation that Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson will be the Philadelphia Eagles' pick at No. 10 is growing.

The Philadelphia Eagles are a team with an open Super Bowl window in need of drafting the type of young player capable of pushing them through it and to the Lombardi Trophy waiting on the other side.

To many, that player could be Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson if the Eagles take him with the 10th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft.

We can now add former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew to that list after he mocked that exact result in his latest first-round projection.

"Though Alabama's Jahmyr Gibbs is my top running back in this year's draft class, the Eagles target the uber-productive Texas product," writes Jones-Drew. "Robinson is a premier playmaker who'll take pressure off big-money quarterback Jalen Hurts."

Taking pressure off Hurts is nice. Getting someone like Robinson who looks like a guy that can carry a whole load of pressure all on his own is better.

In fact, many contend if Philadelphia had a better rushing attack in its Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the city may be celebrating another championship.

But those same people likely believe the Eagles need more talent on the defensive line as well. So with their second first-round pick Jones-Drew sends Clemson's Brian Bresee to do that job.

"The rich keep getting richer as the Eagles add another strong and talented interior defender to their defensive line," Jones-Drew said.

Rich people like staying rich, and getting richer is even better.

So nobody would blame Philadelphia for taking an NFL Draft victory lap if this scenario unfolds in real life on Thursday.
