BREAKING: Ex Falcons WR Olamide Zaccheaus Signs with Eagles

The Atlanta Falcons lost receiver Olamide Zaccheaus in free agency, as he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Atlanta Falcons have officially lost one of their most productive pass catchers from this past season.

According to ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, ending his four-year run in Atlanta.

After making the Falcons roster as an undrafted rookie in 2019, Zaccheaus has steadily improved year-over-year, besting his previous career highs in each of his four seasons.

The 25-year-old Zaccheaus continued his ascension with a strong 2022 season, finishing as Atlanta's second-leading receiver in several categories, including targets (61), catches (40), yards (533), first downs (25) and yards after catch (189) and finishing third in receiving touchdowns with three.

Zaccheaus played in all 17 games and drew a career-high 13 starts, proving to be a reliable target opposite rookie standout Drake London.

The former Virginia Cavalier emerged as solid No. 3 receiver, finding a niche in the Falcons' offense that led to "great appreciation" from coach Arthur Smith, who praised Zaccheaus last offseason.

"He’s dependable, smart, can play multiple spots; that’s a very underrated position when you get to gameday," Smith said. "In any industry, if you were going to look for somebody to hire for a job, he would be a guy I would highly recommend.”

Part of the appeal of Zaccheaus is that he's more than comfortable doing the work; he's drawn rave reviews from Smith on multiple occasions for making key blocks and springing big runs.

But now, the oft-praised, rarely celebrated Zaccheaus is off to the "City of Brotherly Love" - though he certainly left an imprint in Atlanta.
