Giants Announce Coaching Staff Changes

Giants add some new faces and promote some others.

The New York Giants made a few changes to head coach Brian Daboll's staff.

In addition, Jeff Nixon was hired as the new running backs coach to replace DeAndre Smith; Christian Daboll was named as an offensive assistant; and Chris Smith replaces assistant offensive line coach Tony Sparano, Jr. The Giants added Stephen Thomas as the new assistant special teams coach, Mike Treier was named the new safeties coach, Christian Jones was named the assistant quarterbacks coach, and Angela Baker was promoted to offensive assistant.

Thomas spent the previous four seasons as the Detroit Lions’ defensive quality control coach, a position he also held with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.

Treier has been with the team since 2020, where he first served as a defensive quality control coach before moving to assistant defensive backs coach in 2021-2022.

Jones spent the 2022 season as an offensive assistant before his assignment change. And Baker was previously an offensive assistant.
