Panthers Agree to Terms with Jadeveon Clowney

A huge addition to the Carolina defense.

The Carolina Panthers have added a big piece to its pass rush, agreeing to terms with veteran free agent Jadeveon Clowney, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Clowney chose the Panthers over the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and others.

Clowney was taken first overall by the Texans in 2014 but never lived up to that potential and moved onto Seattle after five years in Houston. He's since bounced around the league spending time with the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and Baltimore Ravens.

The Rock Hill, South Carolina native is coming off one of the most productive years of his career, totaling 43 tackles, 19 QB hits, 9.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, five passes defended, and two forced fumbles. For his career, Clowney's totaled 363 tackles, 128 QB hits, 99 tackles for loss, and 52.5 sacks. He'll be slotted to start opposite of fellow newcomer and South Carolina Gamecock, D.J. Wonnum.
