Panthers Restructure Donte Jackson's Contract

Carolina creates more money.

The Carolina Panthers continue to create cap space as they look to make more moves in free agency and possibly via trade.

Thursday evening, the Panthers announced that they have restructured the contract of cornerback Donte Jackson, who was due a $4 million roster bonus tomorrow. The move will save the organization $3.9 million in cap space.

Jackson agreed to a three-year, $31.5 million contract last offseason to remain in Carolina. Unfortunately, he only appeared in nine games this past season due to suffering a torn Achilles in a Thursday night home win over the Atlanta Falcons. He recorded 35 tackles, three pass breakups, two interceptions, and one tackle for loss.
