Steve Wilks Returning to NFC South?

Wilks could get his revenge against Carolina twice a year.

Steve Wilks is a Carolina guy through and through. He's from Charlotte, went to Appalachian State, served two stints with the Carolina Panthers, and always reps West Charlotte High School any chance he gets.

But after not getting the opportunity to move into the head coaching role full time in Carolina last year after nearly leading the team to the playoffs, Wilks is searching for an opportunity elsewhere.

Wilks has completed head coaching interviews so far with the Los Angeles Chargers and NFC South rival, the Atlanta Falcons.

Wilks has already been screwed over twice in this league, so you can't blame him for taking a head coaching interview in Atlanta or anywhere for that matter. At the end of the day, Wilks wants to be a head coach and the Panthers could have avoided this mess of a season by giving him the job. They went a different route and now, Wilks is free to go to an organization that will believe in him.

Wilks was fired after one season as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals where he went 3-13. In his interim stint with Carolina last year, Wilks had a record of 6-6.
