Zavala Returns Home with the Panthers

Some good news on the Carolina Panthers rookie.

Scary, terrifying, frightening, fearful, and concerned are all ways of describing the scene and emotions at Ford Field on Sunday afternoon in Detroit as Carolina Panthers rookie offensive lineman Chandler Zavala laid on the ground following a play in the first quarter.

In his postgame press conference, head coach Frank Reich said he believes Zavala sustained a "bad stinger".

"It was scary. You get out there and it didn't look like he was moving a lot. A minute or so into it, I saw him move his arm, so I was hopeful there. The medical team just did a good job. Play it safe and thankfully everything looks good."

Zavala was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and midway through the game, we received a report from the team that he was alert and had movement in all his extremities. After undergoing several tests, Zavala was cleared to leave the hospital and rejoined his team at the airport to return home to Charlotte with everyone.
