Mac Attack: Patriots' QB Fires 70-Yard Pass! - WATCH

If there were any lingering doubts about the arm strength of New England Patriots' quarterback Mac Jones, he silenced them with an epic throw during a Summer kids camp.

We know, there was no pass rush. No coverage to read. And it was indoors in a controlled, casual environment.

Nonetheless, raise your hand if you thought New England Patriots' quarterback Mac Jones could uncork a 70-yard pass? Much less one that hit the intended receiver in stride?

Jones is known for his savvy, accuracy and decision-making in the pocket much more than his play-making athleticism or elite arm strength.

But while he prepares for a crucial third season hoping for improvement over last year's disappointment, he spent time this week inside the Pats' bubble at a YMCA Metro West/NOBULL youth clinic and lofted a gorgeous bomb to what we think was a kid at the other end of the rainbow.

When training camp starts July 26 Jones will have a "clean slate," afforded him by new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. And while he may not get anything more than cursory endorsement from coach Bill Belichick, he also apparently has the backing of owner Robert Kraft.

As we watch his epic throw on loop, might we also suggest the Patriots look into signing the kid receiver that caught the bomb? After all, their odds of signing free agent DeAndre Hopkins are moving in the the wrong direction and Jones needs all the weapons he can get.

After throwing for 22 touchdowns, leading the Pats to a 10-7 record and the playoffs, and making the Pro Bowl as a rookie, Jones suffered through a nightmare 2022. He was injured early, endured a challenge for his job from rookie Bailey Zappe, absorbed allegations of being "dirty" by opposing players and finished with only 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as New England finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs.
