REPORT: Raiders Select OL in Mock Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders have addressed many positions in free agency this offseason but have yet to adequately address their offensive line. An NFL Draft analyst believes they'll use the NFL Draft to do so.

The Las Vegas Raiders entered the offseason with three starting offensive linemen set to hit free agency.

They let Jermaine Eluemunor walk in free agency, as the veteran lineman would sign with the New York Giants. However, the Raiders successfully kept one of their critical offensive linemen when they signed center Andre James.

The Raiders have made other additions in free agency that have given them the flexibility to select any one of multiple positions in this year’s NFL Draft. Las Vegas has added to its defensive line, its group of running backs, and its quarterback room.

As they turn their attention to the draft, the Raiders have the 13th overall pick and no overly pressing needs to address. However, they have yet to fully address their offensive line, which still has holes, even after bringing back James.

NFL Draft analyst Bucky Brooks knows how the Raiders could fix their issues along the offensive line. In his latest mock draft, Brooks has the Raiders selecting offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga with the 13th overall pick.

“Beefing up the offensive line should be a top priority for a team that wants to control the trenches,” Brooks said. “Fuaga is a mauler/brawler with the size, strength, and nastiness to help the Raiders dominate the point of attack.”

Not only do the Raiders need help along their offensive line, but they also enter next season with a new offensive line coach, James Cregg. Giving their new offensive line coach one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL Draft and putting that player with a unit that already has Kolton Miller, one of the top tackles in the league, should give the Raiders a competent offensive line in front of Aidan O’Connell, Gardner Minshew, or whomever else the Raiders add to their quarterback room.

Brooks could be on to something, as the Raiders have spent the offseason addressing nearly every other area on their roster but the offensive line. They have signed defensive linemen, running backs, a tight end, a quarterback, and so on.

Outside of bringing back James, the Raiders have not made any notable moves on their offensive line. That could be because they plan on using the draft to do so. Time will tell what the Raiders decide to do.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
