Raiders Select Jakorian Bennett With No. 104 Overall Pick
The Las Vegas Raiders started off Day 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft by trading their 109th overall pick and 174th pick to the Houston Texans for the 104th pick and the 203rd pick.
With the 104th overall pick, the Raiders selected Maryland cornerback Jakorian Bennett.
Bennett was an All-Big Ten honorable mention for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Last season, the cornerback posted a career-best 39 tackles, 1.5 for losses, a team-best 11 passes defensed, and two interceptions in 11 games.
Bennett helped lead the Terrapins to the 2022 Duke's Mayo Bowl, where he won the game MVP.
The season before, Bennett totaled 24 tackles, two for losses, 16 passes defensed, and three interceptions in 12 games.
In his first year with the program, Bennett appeared in four of the team's five games, including two starts. He registered six tackles, one for a loss and two passes defensed.
Bennett transferred to Maryland from Hutchinson Community College, where he played for two seasons.
At this year's NFL Combine, Bennett posted a 4.3-second 40-yard dash time, a 40.5-inch vertical jump, and an 11-foot-1 broad jump.
NFL Next Gen Stats gave Bennett an athleticism score of 96, third-best among all cornerback prospects, and a total score of 74.
Bennett was an invitee to the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl, where he played for the National Team under Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
