Report: Raiders Move Up In NFL Draft, Not What You Think

Many anticipate the Las Vegas Raiders moving up in the NFL Draft, and while I don't think it is settled, it is possible. A new report has them moving up, but not for what you think.

HENDERSON, Nev.--Las Vegas Raiders' owner, Mark Davis, isn't sitting on his billions; he wants the Raiders in the Super Bowl and is willing to do everything within his purview to get it done.

Many people believe that it is a foregone conclusion that the Silver and Black will move up in the NFL Draft later this spring.

While I don't see it as a foregone conclusion, I agree that it is within the realm of possibility.

But a recent report, a MOCK Draft by my colleague Richie Bradshaw, agrees with those that see it as a foregone conclusion, but Bradshaw doesn't see it for the same reason, or should I say position, as others.

It would be for a player who many believe is generational and could alter the landscape of the Raiders roster for the next 10 seaons.

The Las Vegas Raiders have the blessing of ownership to do what they must in the NFL Draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders have the blessing of ownership to do what they must in the NFL Draft.

Per my colleague Richie Bradshaw:

9. TRADE: Las Vegas Raiders

The pick: Olu Fashanu, Offensive Tackle, Penn State

Trade:

Las Vegas receives pick 9.

Chicago receives picks 13 and 77.

The Bears are once again involved in a trade, but this time, it's for a team making sure they get their guy.

The Raiders' offensive line outside of Kolton Miller is upgradable, and Fashanu is slipping right now. Adding him across from Miller provides bookend tackles for whoever ends up under center next season.

While General Manager Tom Telesco and Coach Antonio Pierce have the green light from owner Mark Davis to move up in the NFL Draft to upgrade the Silver and Black, moving up for offensive linemen, certainly a position of need, would shock some people.

The NFL Draft is certain to be highly entertaining this year.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
