Rams Les Snead Ready to 'Attack' Offseason With 'Aggressive' Approach

After taking a more conservative approach last offseason to roster building, Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead is seemingly shifting back to his "aggressive" nature.

At this time a year ago, the Los Angeles Rams were in the beginning stages of their roster "remodeling" process. It was a process that sounded like the beginning of a rebuild as they offloaded many of their top players who were on big contracts and opted to replace them through the NFL Draft.

However, this past season proved quite the opposite. The Rams exceeded expectations, finishing the regular season with a 10-7 record and a spot in the playoffs.

Despite not having a first-round pick in last year's draft, they still managed to bring a strong rookie class that'd prove to be a big reason for their success.

So, after a promising season for the Rams, what's next? Will they continue to build through the draft and be more conservative in free agency? Or will they resort back to the approach that won them a Super Bowl?

“Sean and I, at the core, we like to attack — we believe in being aggressive,” Rams general manager Les Snead said at the NFL Scouting Combine when asked about their offseason plans. “Hopefully, it’s not crazy. But I can say that Sean and I do have in our DNA an element of, you know, let’s call it, ‘We’re not going to be scared to try to go win a gold medal.’”

Not only were the fruits of the Rams' "remodel" bore on the field this past season but they are also being felt financially. L.A. will have over $40 million in cap space to utilize this offseason, according to OverTheCap, which is the 12th-most in the league.

Snead's statement of going on the "attack" seemingly signals a shift in mindset toward trying to contend. Maybe not as gung ho as they were in the lead-up to winning Super Bowl LVI.

But with a roster that still has holes to fill along the offensive line and cornerback, to name a few, it seems like a safe bet that the Rams will be spenders this offseason.
