Ravens Draft: Offensive Line Workouts Highlight Biggest Need

The Ravens know they need to address the offensive line throughout the offseason. Luckily for them, this might just be the deepest rookie line class in NFL history.

NFL Network host Daniel Jeremiah stated that if an organization needed an offensive line overhaul, then this draft class was the year to have those needs.

That should be music to the ears of a team like the Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore is set to lose two guards, Kevin Zietler and John Simpson in free agency, and has all three tackles on the roster (Ronnie Stanley, Patrick Mekari, and Morgan Moses) coming off injury-plagued seasons in 2023. A pretty clear indication that the entire line could be addressed in both free agency and the Draft.

Following the offensive tackle class going through their measurements and overall basic testing, Jeremiah posted on social media, "Needless to say…if you need an OT, you are in luck."

The long-time NFL Network host and former scout also said during the broadcast that the current draft class of offensive linemen and tackles was the best he has seen in 20 years. A clear sign of the depth of the entire group.

That leaves a team like the Ravens, with limited cap space and a late first-round pick with plenty of options to choose from early in the Draft. While top players like Notre Dame's Joe Alt, Penn State's Olu Fashanu, or Oregon State's Olu Fashanu won't be around when Baltimore makes their pick with the 30th overall selection, other top prospects would be.

Some names that have been linked to the Ravens are Oklahoma's Tyler Guyton, Washington's Troy Fautanu, and Duke's Graham Barton with their first-round selection.

Guyton, Fautanu, and Barton are all players who may need to address certain parts of their game, but their upside is among the best of other players in previous years at this point.

As the organization prepares to watch the latest workouts for the entire group on the final day of the 2024 scouting combine, the Ravens should be happy to know that if there was a year to address their offensive line problems in the Draft, this is certainly the one.
