Ravens' Three-Headed RB Monster Returning After Hill Re-Signing

The Ravens have signed running back Justice Hill to a two-year deal, thus keeping a talented trio of running backs in Baltimore.

The word "contract" could be seen as taboo inside the Baltimore Ravens organization with the ongoing discussions with Lamar Jackson, but running back Justice Hill has no such problems.

The explosive running back put pen to paper on a new two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Ravens, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Drafted in the fourth round, Hill has primarily been used as a backup for the Ravens and missed the entire 2021 season due to a nasty Achilles tear. But last season, Hill proved he was back to his best.

He totaled a career-high 262 rushing yards, being essentially the third-string back behind Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins.

It is worth noting that last season, the Ravens were the third-best team in the NFL for rushing yards per game (159.7) and they can look forward to emulating that in 2023.

Given the Ravens' willingness to run the football, and having multiple backs that can pick up decent yardage consistently, keeping Hill gives offensive coordinator Todd Monken another weapon to utilize.

Hill's speed and power in open space saw him become a valuable contributor to the Ravens' offense and special teams unit. With him staying put for two more years, Baltimore's running back room can be considered one of the better units in the league.

Locking down another offensive talent is good news for Baltimore, but the one player fans want signed is Lamar Jackson

There is reportedly still no movement on a deal after the quarterback was non-exclusive franchise tagged by the organization, and we await any further news of a breakthrough.

Nevertheless, the Ravens have kept a valuable offensive weapon for the next two seasons, and if 2022 was anything to go by, Hill could be on his way to replicating his form in college for Oklahoma State that saw him rush for 3,539 yards and 30 touchdowns in three years.
