Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery Could Miss Week 7 vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens beat the Tennessee Titans in London on Sunday to reach the 4-2 mark on the season. That means, at least temporarily, they lead the AFC North by a half-game over the Steelers and Browns, who have both already enjoyed their byes.
The Ravens turn their attention to the surging Detroit Lions and their potent run game. That run game may be without its leading yardage gainer, however, as running back David Montgomery could miss some time, including Week 7 against the Ravens.
The Lions are averaging just over 124 yards per game, with Montgomery leading the way with 385 yards on 94 carries.

The former Iowa State Cyclone suffered a rib injury in the Lions' 20-6 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. Lions' coach Dan Campbell said after the game that initial X-rays were negative, and Montgomery undergoing further tests. The Detroit Free Press reported on Monday morning that Montgomery is expected to miss some time.
Montgomery carried the ball six times for 14 yards and had one catch for 19 yards before he had to exit the game in Tampa. The Lions are already dealing with injuries to rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs - who may return against the Ravens, and Zonovan Knight who is most likely done for the season with a shoulder injury.
"I feel a lot better about Gibbs this week. He ran really well on Saturday before we left and had another really good workout (Monday)," Campbell said. "He, Mitchell and Branch, I thought, all looked pretty good today. I think they're trending the right way."
The Ravens' defense is allowing just 97.7 yards per game on the ground, but even with the injuries, the Detroit rushing attack will be one of the more aggressive ones Baltimore has faced this season.
