Serious Contenders

Los Angeles Rams (5-4), 7th Seed

Philadelphia Eagles (5-4), 8th Seed

Carolina Panthers (5-4), 9th Seed

The Saints have a difficult schedule remaining this season.  In November, New Orleans will have played four-straight NFC South opponents.  Sunday, they will travel to meet the Bucs and then face the Carolina Panthers at home on November 24th.  Four days later on Thanksgiving night, the team squares-off again battling the Falcons in Atlanta.  Things do not get easier for the Saints as the NFC leading San Francisco 49ers visit the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for a game with huge playoff implications.   Depending on if the Saints and Niners continue to win, the winner could decide the top-seedings and tie-breakers.  New Orleans will complete the season with two AFC South teams in contention for the playoffs in the Colts and Titans.   The Saints' last game will be in Carolina on December 29th, a match which may settle the NFC playoff picture in Week 17.
