The New Orleans Saints have brought XFL defensive end Niko Lalos back to their roster on Monday, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. Lalos played this past spring with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL.

Undrafted out of Dartmouth in 2020, Lalos was signed by the New York Giants. He appeared in six games for the Giants as a rookie and had an interception, a fumble recovery, and six tackles. After that he remained on New York's practice squad until being released at the beginning of training camp in 2022.

New Orleans signed Lalos upon his release from the Giants. He spent most of the year on the Saints practice squad before being released in January.

The Sea Dragons finished 7-3 in their inaugural XFL season. Lalos contributed an interception and 1.5 sacks to go along with his 21 total tackles. He had 11 sacks and an interception over his three-year collegiate career at Dartmouth.

A 6'5" and 270-Lb. defensive end, Lalos has also shown the versatility to drop into coverage or slide inside to tackle in some situations. He'll compete for a spot in the rotation behind Cam Jordan, Carl Granderson, Tanoh Kpassagnon, Payton Turner, and 2023 third-round choice Isaiah Foskey.

Earlier on Monday, the Saints also signed XFL defensive lineman Jack Heflin and veteran NFL wideout James Washington.
