NFL Mock Draft: Seahawks Add 'Premier' Georgia TE Brock Bowers After Free Agency Losses

The Seattle Seahawks suffered two tight end losses in free agency but add one of the best in the draft to compensate.

NFL free agency began with a bang, with teams quickly making moves to sign top-tier players. For the Seattle Seahawks, while they did re-sign two key components in Leonard Williams and Noah Fant, the franchise also lost some starters.

Offensively, both tight ends Colby Parkinson (Rams) and Will Dissly (Chargers) left, while guard Damien Lewis signed with the Carolina Panthers. Defensively, Jordyn Brooks was snapped up by the Miami Dolphins.

On Day 3, the Seahawks added New England Patriots tight end Pharaoh Brown to a one-year, $3.9 million deal and Cleveland Browns center Nick Harris to a one-year deal.

Bowers

As free agency continues, an eye towards the draft is always front of mind. With the Seahawks losing two tight ends in Parkinson and Dissly, the franchise adds the best tight end in the draft class in CBS Sports' latest mock draft by selecting Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.

"Even with Noah Fant re-signed, the Seahawks get a premier tight-end talent in Bowers," CBS Sports writes.

In adding Georgia's leading receiver from 2023, Geno Smith gets another offensive weapon to complement the likes of D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

With Bowers and Fant as the starting tight ends, the Seahawks, under new coordinator Ryan Grubb, could get both tight ends involved to add another dimension to their offense.

Given Grubb's background with offensive lineman, what Bowers can do in the run game as a blocker could also be of note. With Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet set to have more of a say on offense and Seattle wanting to be a "physical" football team, Bowers will help in establishing the run while also being an option in the passing game.

The Seahawks might not be done in free agency just yet, but with a glaring need at tight end, taking one in the first round isn't out of the realms of possibility, and in Bowers, Seattle gets the best of this draft class.
