'Terrible!' Seahawks Ex Bruce Irvin Reacts To K.J. Wright Joining 49ers

Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin was not happy over his ex-teammate joining their arch-rival.

The rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers may not be quite as cutthroat as it was a decade ago, but there's certainly no love lost between the two NFC West foes.

So when longtime Seahawks star K.J. Wright announced that he would begin his coaching career under Kyle Shanahan's 49ers, many Seattle fans were left with a bitter taste in their mouths. Apparently, that sentiment extends to some former Seahawks as well.

Bruce Irvin, another former Seahawks linebacker who played alongside Wright for five years (2012-15, 2020) took to social media to express his disappointment with his ex-teammate's decision.

"Terrible! I hate the Niners! I would never work in that city in any kind of way! Permanent opps 4life!!!!" Irvin wrote in a now-deleted post, complete with two vomiting emojis.

It's likely that Irvin played up his reaction and isn't truly angry with Wright, but it's still a humorous interaction nonetheless.

Even if it was a joke, seeing Wright on the 49ers sideline next season is certainly going to be awkward for Seahawks fans and players, especially his former teammates like Irvin.
