Seattle Seahawks Ready to 'Build' on Dallas Cowboys Performance vs. San Francisco 49ers

The Seattle Seahawks gave as good as they got against the Dallas Cowboys, and Geno Smith thinks the team can build on that against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Seattle Seahawks are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and face the San Francisco 49ers for the second time in three weeks, but there is renewed confidence within the team.

After taking the Dallas Cowboys all the way in the 41-35 loss last week, the Seahawks had plenty to be pleased with despite the loss. Now, as they look to atone for the 31-13 beating they suffered against the 49ers in Week 12 on Thanksgiving, quarterback Geno Smith thinks the team can build on last week's performance.

“Anytime you’re scoring a lot of points, that’s something that you want to build on," Smith said. "For us, we know that each game is going to be different, every game is a different game. You get a new set of downs, and we have to focus on executing one play at a time. We can build on it, but we can’t allow that to let us get complacent. We have to go out there and we have to earn it every single time.”

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith says his team can build on the performance vs. Dallas as his team faces the 49ers.

The Seahawks will have to earn every yard against Kyle Shanahan's team, who are fresh off a 42-19 beatdown of the NFL-best Philadelphia Eagles.

Given how both teams are traveling, as the Seahawks are on a three-game skid and the 49ers on a four-game winning streak, San Francisco is understandably the overwhelming favorite.

But that doesn't concern Smith in the slightest.

“I’m not really worried about perception," Smith said. "I’m focused on reality. We’ve got a game to play, and we have to go out there and play it.”

The Seahawks sit at 6-6 on the season, and on the outside looking in on the playoffs, games need to be won in this final stretch.

Does that start with an upset win over the 49ers? Seattle sure hopes so.
