'Great Fit!' Seahawks GM John Schneider Previews New TE Tandem

The Seattle Seahawks have high hopes for the tight end duo of Noah Fant and newcomer Pharaoh Brown.

The Seattle Seahawks' tight end room will look quite different next season.

Starter Noah Fant is sticking around, and with a new two-year extension to boot. However, backups Colby Parkinson and Will Dissly both moved south to Los Angeles to sign with the Rams and Chargers, respectively.

In their place, the Seahawks signed former New England Patriots tight end Pharaoh Brown to a one-year deal. Now, Seattle has a receiving-focused tight end in Fant and a blocking-focused tight end in Brown. With such a complementary duo, Seahawks general manager John Schneider is excited to see it in action.

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (87) catches a pass during pre-game drills before an NFL game against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.

“Those two guys’ skill sets are going to be really nice, and I think those two guys working together is gonna be a great fit,” Schneider said on Seattle Sports.

The Seahawks are very familiar with Fant at this point as he's entering his third season with the team, but as a newcomer, Brown is more of a question mark. As the man who signed Brown, though, Schneider has done plenty of scouting on what he can bring to the offense.

“He’s a guy that can take care of the ‘C’ gap, he can really block down, he’s nasty. He’s gonna bring a toughness to our to our offense. He’s a tempo setter,” Schneider said. “He’s a little bit of an old soul that way. He’s going to fight you and not back down, and I think that’s going to rub off on our offensive identity. I think you’ll see that in the run game, for sure.”
