Former Rival Admits Dirty Play Against Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers were the victim of a few late hits by this player, and he's finally admitting to it.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers and any AFC North team is typically a heated battle, but back in the day, there were few fights as angry as Steelers versus Bengals. Now, after years of assumption, one former Cincinnati player admitted he did make sure to cause a little extra pain when playing Pittsburgh.

During a live stream of Madden, former Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict admitted he hit players on the Steelers after the play - but that was the only team he did it again.

"I didn't hit people after the play all the time. Just the Steelers," Burfict said. "[Explicit] the Steelers."

Burfict was on the giving and receiving end of some memorable - and gruesome - hits in the Steelers-Bengals rivalry. His hit on Antonio Brown is still mentioned to this day. Meanwhile, former Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster's blow to Burfict was so iconic it appeared on shirts across the city.

After that game, the interview with Smith-Schuster is just as memorable, with Brown yelling "karma" in the background.

The Steelers-Bengals rivalry remains a heated battle, but there's been less of those late hits in recent years. That's a good thing for players' health and the safety of the game, especially when it comes to these AFC North battles.
