Steelers’ Brian Flores Accepts Vikings DC Position
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers senior defensive assistant Brian Flores is headed west, accepting the defensive coordinator position with the Minnesota Vikings, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport
Flores’s time with the Steelers last just one season, but his impact was hard to miss. After finishing last in rush defense last season, the group finished as the 9th-best in opposing rushing yards this year.
Flores’s acceptance of the Vikings’ DC job means he’ll remove himself from being in the final three for the Arizona Cardinals head coach position.
The Steelers saw plenty of success with Flores’s role, which raises the question if they’ll look to hire another veteran coach to a similar position. During his final press conference of the year, team president Art Rooney II said the team could see more changes to the staff.
