Mitch Trubisky Offers Solution to George Pickens's Frustrations
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are trying to find their groove on offense, but with quarterback troubles and the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada, almost nothing seems to be working for the group this season.
With their struggles have come frustrations. And the highlight of those emotions is wide receiver George Pickens, who has shown his frustrations a number of times this season while on the sideline.
Head coach Mike Tomlin addressed those incidents when talking with the media, saying it is a problem because Pickens is not trying to be constructive during the process.
"It’s a problem because it’s not solution-oriented," Tomlin said. "We’re all frustrated, but we have to manage our frustration in a professional and mature way and when it’s not done that way, it’s not necessarily pushing us towards solutions."
Now, quarterback Mitch Trubisky has a solution for Pickens's troubles.
"Get him the football. Have open communication about what he’s seeing versus what I’m seeing and just continuing to work on that timing," Trubisky said.
Pickens caught five passes for 19 yards in the team's loss to the Patriots. Since having back-to-back 100-yard games in Weeks 5 and 7 (Steelers had a bye week in Week 6), he's eclipsed the 50-yard mark just twice.
