Steelers Set Pre-Draft Visit With Florida Defensive End Gervon Dexter

The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting a closer look at a big-name defensive end.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will get a closer look at Florida defensive end Gervon Dexter as they've set a top 30 pre-draft visit with him this offseason.

Dexter met with the Steelers at the NFL Combine and is expected to be a mid-round pick coming out of the Gator's defense. During an appearance on the Stadium and Gale podcast, Dexter said he has set a date with the Steelers and five other teams so far.

"Right now, I think we have five or six top-30 visits," Dexter said. "At the NFL Combine, I met with 22 different teams formally. For right now, we’re for sure meeting with Philly, the Bills, the Steelers, New York Giants, the Browns."

The Steelers impressed Dexter at the combine and likely will during their pre-draft visit as well.

"Those guys are amazing, man," Dexter told All Steelers at the combine. "They're straightforward with it. I looked them in the eyes, and they're completely honest, man. They're great guys, and they love what they do."

He finished his SEC career with five sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.
