Steelers Rookie DT Keeanu Benton Returns From Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers get their star defensive rookie back.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Keeanu Benton left in the second half of the team's preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but is back on the field as the team takes on the Buffalo Bills for their second exhibition game.

Benton was dealing with an ankle injury that did hold him back throughout the practice week. He was nearly a full participant by the end of the week, appearing to have minimal restrictions and looking as powerful as he did in the preseason opener when he recorded three tackles.

He's now suited up and set to play against the Bills.

The Steelers will also have safeties Damontae Kazee and Keanu Benton on the field for the first time this preseason. Both players missed time during training camp because of injuries - Kazee's being an ankle and Neal's being unknown - and were sidelined against Tampa Bay.

As for those who won't play, the Steelers have ruled out safety Tre Norwood (leg), defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (lower leg/foot), and offensive lineman Nate Herbig (shoulder).
