Steelers Biggest Training Camp Sleeper

The Pittsburgh Steelers should have a new starter by Week 1.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are only 48 hours away from reporting to Saint Vincent College for the start of training camp. And like every year, there are players who should make noise on the field that many weren't expecting. This year, that player is a defensive back.

Like Jaylen Warren and James Pierre of the past, this year's Steelers sleeper should earn himself a spot on the 53-man roster and be called upon plenty during the season. Technically, he'll probably start at the position come Week 1 - even if he's not always on the field.

What this year's sleeper does is give the Steelers' defense something they haven't had in years - a complete secondary. It's been a while since all five defensive backs were able to hold their own. This year, that should change, and will likely make this defense is even better because of it.

Training camp is going to bring plenty of headlines about players we didn't expect to make noise. There are going to be no names flying around with chances to make their mark on the 2023 Steelers.

But when it comes to this team's biggest sleeper at camp, there's only one right answer.
