So the Steelers Want Zay Flowers?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have "wanted" a number of players. Days before the NFL Draft, that player is Zay Flowers.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have been mocked with Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers not once, but twice, in ESPN's latest mocks. Now, it's becoming a trend from different NFL outlets, which brings up the question, do they really want Flowers?

The answer isn't no. And truthfully, it makes a lot of sense where these mock drafts are coming from. Really, it might be a logical pick for a team on the edge of a few positions. It's probably also not the name they'd go with if the draft falls this way.

The name they would pick is more exciting.

With cornerback and offensive tackle being major unknowns by pick 17, the Steelers could find themselves in a strange spot. By the time they're on the clock, Joey Porter Jr., Christian Gonzalez, Devon Witherspoon and maybe even Deonte Banks could be off the board. So could the top three offensive tackles.

So, where do they go from there? Throughout the process, we've discusses them reaching for a player who might not fit that 17th pick. What analysts are doing now is looking for a position of need that could be a sleeper - but sticks with the value.

Zay Flowers might be the best value pick on the board by the time the Steelers are drafting. And while that holds ground, the player they'd pick over him doesn't change that value much.
