Watch: Former Steelers LB Kwon Alexander Begins Return

The former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker begins his return to the field.

PITTSBURGH -- Kwon Alexander is back on the field, beginning his return to the NFL as he recovers from a torn achilles. The former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker shared an update on social media of how far he's come since his season ended.

Alexander, 29, signed with the Steelers during training camp last season and became an immediate part of the defense heading into the season. Working in a three-man rotation with Elandon Roberts and Cole Holcomb, Alexander appeared to be a crucial part of a group ready to reset a struggling linebacker room in Pittsburgh.

That came to an end early after Alexander left in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers with a non-contact injury, resulting in the end of his 2023 season.

Now, he's making a comeback. After months of rehabbing, a video appeared titled "1st day back in cleats" showing Alexander working on the field with a trainer.

The Steelers signed Patrick Queen during the offseason, likely closing the door on an Alexander return. They're hoping Holcomb is back by the start of the season, allowing them to have a three-headed monster once again in 2024.
