Texans OT Laremy Tunsil Projected to Earn Pro Bowl Trip

As the lone Pro Bowler from the Houston Texans last season offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil is likely to earn another trip after his NFL Top 100 rank was revealed.

The NFL’s best 88 players converge every postseason for the Pro Bowl and last year Houston Texans offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil was counted among them.

On Wednesday the NFL announced the next Pro Bowl Games will be held in Orlando, Florida which means if the Texans aren’t shocking the world with a trip to the Super Bowl Tunsil just might get a week in the sunshine state as a consolation prize.

“The multi-day AFC vs NFC event will feature new and returning skills challenges…and culminate in action-packed flag football at Camping World Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024,” the NFL said in press release. “Peyton and Eli Manning will return as head coaches of the AFC and NFC.”

While Tunsil was one of the 88 that participated last year he’s projected as one of the league’s best again this season coming in No. 85 in the NFL Top 100, revealed on Wednesday.

“A veteran leader for the Texans’ offense, Tunsil was a consistent player for Houston on the field,” NFL.com said of the star tackle.

The result of that performance wasn’t only a trip to Las Vegas for last year’s Pro Bowl, but a $75 million extension as well.

If you subscribe to the theory that the four most important components to an NFL team are the passer, pass protector, pass rusher, and playmaker, then Houston has one of the four locked in for a while.

With rookies C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. coming in as first-round quarterback and defensive end respectively the Texans are hoping to secure two more of those cornerstones this year.

And if successful, it may not be long before Tunsil finds himself in familiar company at the Pro Bowl, and we see more Houston representation in the NFL Top 100.
