Texans to Host Longhorns LB DeMarvion Overshown for Draft Visit

Could Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown stay in-state and begin his professional career with the Houston Texans?

With the 2023 NFL Draft fast approaching, much of the talk on the Houston Texans is focused on which quarterback the team will select at No. 2 overall.

But inside the building, Texans general manager Nick Caserio and coach DeMeco Ryans are putting in the work to fill out the rest of the draft board - including visits and meetings with prospects.

And the latest instance comes with an in-state standout ...

According to NFL Network, the Texans are scheduled to host University of Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown for a top-30 visit.

A native of Arp, Texas, Overshown has already met or is scheduled to meet with the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos.

The 6-3, 229-pound Overshown was recruited as a safety but transitioned to linebacker in 2019 and has started 31 games over the last three years.

Overshown, 22, was named first team All-Big 12 this past season after collecting career highs in tackles (96), tackles for loss (10) and sacks (four). He ran a 4.56 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

Should Overshown be drafted by the Texans, he'd be the third ex Longhorn on the roster, joining defensive lineman Hassan Ridgeway and tight end Andrew Beck.

A first-team all-state player at Arp High School, Overshown's made plays in Texas for years - and could get the opportunity to keep doing it for years to come.
