Texans Participating in Joint Preseason Practices With Dolphins, Saints

These joint practices will give a glimpse of what to expect from the Texans during the 2023 season.

While we are still several months away from the start of the 2023 NFL season, it is never too early to look ahead at potential preseason storylines that could develop in the coming months.

And, after a strong offseason so far, the Houston Texans should be one of the more intriguing teams to follow in the league - on paper, at least. They've added plenty of talent as they look to finally exit their rebuild and once again start competing for playoff spots.

Of course, there is no way to know how good they will be until the season itself starts. However, preseason games and practices do allow a small glimpse into what is to come.

With those preseason games comes joint practices, which allow the Texans to compete against another team ahead of a preseason game. This year, they will be participating in joint practices with the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints, according to FOX26 Sports Director Mark Berman.

No, they won't be a 100 percent accurate representation of the Texans against another team, but they are practices against quality opponents. Just last season the Dolphins made the playoffs and are once again serious contenders for a Super Bowl in the AFC.

The Texans have the potential to be one of the NFL's most improved teams this season with all the talent added via free agency and the draft. Facing the Dolphins and Saints during the preseason will give a great look at what is to come in 2023.
