Titans vs. Texans: QB Will Levis Reveals Ankle Injury Update

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of this week's game against the Houston Texans.

The Tennessee Titans are eliminated from contention in the AFC playoff picture, but that doesn't mean that they've given up on the final two games of the regular season.

Titans quarterback Will Levis is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of this week's showdown with the Houston Texans, and he recently discussed his desire to be healthy enough to take the field against the division rival on Sunday.

Playoffs or no playoffs, he wants to help his team finish strong in 2023.

“[My ankle is] good, it’s coming along well,” Levis said after practice on Wednesday, via Jim Wyatt of the team’s website. “We’ll see how this week goes, and I’m taking it day-by-day. I’m continuing to just prepare as if I was playing, keeping the same mindset regardless of the situation.

“I’m continuing to work with the [trainers] to get me ready as soon as possible.”

Even when the playoffs are no longer an option, it's hard to get rid of the competitiveness in players like Levis. Football is football, and when it's played, he wants to win.

“I just want to play ball,” Levis said. “I just want to go out there and win games and leave this season with a good taste in our mouth. We’ve had some tough losses.

“There’s an opportunity to put a new version of us on tape against that same [Texans] defense, [and that’s] going to be exciting.”

The Titans enter this game with a 5-10 record, but this is a meeting that the Texans will need to win in order to feel halfway decent about their own playoff chances. Houston is currently 8-7, and if the season ended today, they would fall just outside the playoff seeding in the AFC.

Kickoff on Sunday between the Texans and Titans is set for 12 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on FOX.
