NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Titans added another linebacker to their roster with the announcement that they have agreed to terms with free agent Ben Niemann.

A five-year veteran, Niemann (6'2", 233 lbs), has played 79 games, with 21 starts between Kansas City (2018-21) and Arizona (2022).

During his first five seasons in the league, Niemann has collected 237 tackles, eight for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, six recoveries, and 16 special teams stops. Last season in Arizona, Niemann amassed 70 tackles, including two tackles for loss and one fumble recovery in 17 games while starting nine games for the Cardinals. His 70 tackles ranked fifth on the team and was a career-high.

Following his college career at Iowa, Niemann entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs in 2018, where he spent four seasons before moving to Arizona prior to the 2022 season.

As a member of the Hawkeyes, Niemann appeared in 49 games and totaled 199 tackles, 16 for loss, four sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

Niemann becomes the third linebacker added by the Titans in free agency, joining Azeez Al-Shaair, and Luke Gifford, who was signed at the beginning of the period.

While Niemann will have the opportunity to compete for a starting spot, his signing would appear to be more of a depth and special teams move at this time.
