Robin Lundberg: Colin Kaepernick is the newest board member of Medium, and is launching an interview series for the site with athletes and activists tentatively titled Conversations with Colin. For more, I'm joined by our Corey Parson. Corey, obviously, Colin has become symbolic of the movement we see in the country, and his status in the NFL is constantly talked about. But he hasn't spoken so much since he originally took a knee. What do you really want to hear him say?

Corey Parson: What a thing I want to hear Colin Kaepernick say the most is the truth, because that's where Colin Kaepernick comes in, it's important in this time. Listen, there's a lot of ground swell. People want to see Colin Kaepernick back in the NFL. I think what Colin Kaepernick is doing with medium is the right thing to do. You want to see a black quarterback in the NFL. Holler at Cam Newton. Now, what Colin Kaepernick has the chance to do right here is truly address systemic racism by taking the microphone and giving narrative back to the people that are being oppressed. Not so much giving that narrative to the oppressors. So I think what Colin Kaepernick is doing is really attacking it from the root cause, getting the message correct and getting it to the right people.

Robin Lundberg: You know, I always say that Kaepernick was wronged, and if he wants to play, he should get an opportunity to play, absolutely. But do you think there's there's a chance, you know, that his future is more in this activist role than it is in the NFL?

Corey Parson: I see the future being more in an activist role, and I see the future being for him, somebody who has the imprint, who can really change the narrative by addressing the situations in the media. [00:01:24][8.5]

Robin Lundberg:  Corey, appreciate your time on this. Thank you.
