NFL Training camp reporting dates announced and players have been informed they may opt out of the 2020 season by August 1st.

The NFL and the NFL Players’ Association are continuing to negotiate the terms for the upcoming season, which will be affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Negotiations include how to handle positive COVID cases, health and safety measures, and the handling of the economic impact of the pandemic on the league as a whole. Players have been informed they may opt-out of the 2020 season by August 1, but if they do so the opt-out is final, and a club cannot negotiate with a player who has opted out, though that player can be traded. This is reportedly to prevent players who are holding out over contract issues using this avenue. Teams are currently scheduled to report to training camp on or before July 28.
