Should Fantasy Managers Be Worried About Zay Flowers’ Latest Injury News?

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers recently missed another day of practice due to an injury.

After missing multiple practices last week, Zay Flowers did not practice on Monday, Aug. 31, due to an undisclosed lower-body injury. The Ravens are less than two weeks away from playing the Indianapolis Colts on Sep.13, which puts into question whether or not Flowers will be available.

Zay Flowers Injury Update

The sentiment around Flowers among the Ravens staff shows little sign of stress. Last week, he was a non-participant in both practices on Monday and Tuesday. He did, however, while the Ravens were doing a joint practice with the Washington Commanders on Wednesday, do some work on the side without pads. Baltimore Head Coach Jesse Minter also described Flowers' injury last week as something minor.

It definitely is not ideal to see Flowers come into a new week and be a non-participant once again in practice, but fantasy managers should continue not to worry. With Flowers having been in the NFL a few seasons and establishing himself as one of the better WRs in the NFL, there is no rush in getting him back. The Ravens are just likely being overcautious.

Matt Zenitz, a National NFL senior reporter, said the following on X regarding Flowers. 

“ Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers, who has missed practice time recently with a lower body injury, is currently expected to be back practicing at full capacity next week, and the full expectation is that he’ll be good to go for Week 1 vs. the Colts sources tell @CBSSports.”

With that said again, fantasy managers should not worry about Flowers. If anything, his injury will be short-term. 

Fantasy Impact IF Zay Flowers Misses Any Time

In the scenario that Flowers misses time in the 2026 season, the fantasy value of rookie Baltimore WR Ja’Kobi Lane and TE Mark Andrews would rise.

Lane has garnered a lot of hype in the lead-up to the regular season. He has made several eye-popping plays at training camp and performed fairly well in the preseason. In two preseason games, he had four receptions for 47 yards and a TD.

Lane, as a rookie, has a chance to be the Ravens' WR2 behind Flowers, and if Flowers is not available in Week 1, Lane would be a potential flex play that fantasy managers could go to if they are in a bind.

His current ADP in PPR fantasy formats in ESPN leagues is WR64, and in Sleeper leagues it is WR58.

Mark Andrews

Andrews' fantasy value has been trending down for the last several seasons. In 2025, he had 48 receptions, 422 receiving yards  (career-low), and five TDs.

Even though his fantasy value is headed the wrong direction he has shown he can be an elite producer with Lamar Jackson on his QB, even in 2025. Against the Detroit Lions in Week 3, he had six receptions, 91 receiving yards, and two TDs. He finished as TE2 that week in PPR. If Flowers were not available at any point this season, then Jackson would likely turn to Andrews as one of the main players to make up for his volume in their passing game.

Andrews current ADP in fantasy PPR in ESPN leagues is TE14, and in Sleeper Leagues it is TE15.
