TreVeyon Henderson Injury Could Move Rhamondre Stevenson Up Fantasy Rankings And Open The Door For A Sleeper

Fantasy football owners got some scary news on Monday afternoon. New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson went down in practice and did not return. The training staff was looking at his right ankle or foot following the injury after he slipped when trying to make a cut.

Was getting right leg/ankle/foot looked at.
This just happened, so we do not know the extent of this injury. It could be serious, or it could be nothing.
Until further notice, we would advise fantasy owners to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. You can be sure that we will give you an update when we know more about the nature of this injury. For now, we will help you prepare just in case this does cost him significant time.
Fantasy Impact
RB TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots
At this point, we aren't even 100% sure exactly what body part is injured, so we aren't going to speculate about that. Hopefully we get positive news much sooner rather than later, and this ends up being a non-factor. Nevertheless, fantasy owners will have to hold their breath until we find out more.
If we get news that he is even going for X-rays or an MRI, things are going to get even scarier. While he is one of the most dynamic running backs in the league, he also can't afford to miss any time as he is already fighting for snaps and opportunities in that backfield.
RB Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots
The snaps and opportunities are a huge question mark when it comes to the Patriots' backfield; however, Stevenson would get a huge boost if Henderson is forced to miss any time. He would jump from a risky flex option to an RB2 you can start with confidence.
New England will give someone else some snaps and touches, but with Henderson sidelined, Stevenson could see his workload jump from around 60% to up around 80%. There is no running back on that team that has done anything to establish themselves as a threat to Stevenson's workload.
RB JaMycal Hasty, New England Patriots
Hasty could be the next man up as the RB2 if this injury is serious. We saw him have some success with an extremely limited sample size during his time with the San Francisco 49ers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He would likely play mostly on pass-catching downs, but does have a respectable 4.0 yards per carry over the course of his career on 121 carries.
RB Jam Miller, New England Patriots
We also want to mention this seventh-round rookie. While we have almost no expectations for him, he is a name worth mentioning. If this injury is serious, it could help him make the 53-man roster and make him a dark horse to carve out a role in the rushing attack.
